OAKLAND (KRON) — People gathered in Oakland in regards to a solidarity march for the access pipeline happening at Standing Rock, North Dakota Friday evening.
The march was set to take place around 6:30 p.m. in the area of 25th and Telegraph Avenues in Oakland, and marchers are calling it the “Bay Area Against the Black Snake.”
Marchers were wearing the color red and were bringing candles, and medicine for reminders of their powers.
This march originated from the continuous of protest of the Dakota Access Pipeline, which has stirred major controversy in the U.S. due to the construction taking place on sacred Native American Land.
There is no available information as to when the protest will be over.
