UPDATE: The coroner has confirmed that they are not real bones. Officials did not say what they were.
SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A backpack full of what appears to be human remains has washed ashore on San Francisco’s Pier 14 Tuesday morning.
A man walking his dog along the pier noticed a backpack and called authorities after he spotted what looked like bones inside the bag.
An official with the coroner’s office is at the scene to examine the possible human remains.
There were also payroll receipts inside the bag that have been collected for evidence.
