WASHINGTON D.C. (KRON) — Pope Francis ended his visit to Cuba on Tuesday and began to make his way to the U.S. making history as this will be his first time.
Pope Francis will land in Washington D.C. Tuesday afternoon for the start of his six-day U.S. tour.
The Pope will step on U.S. soil for the first time ever, at the age of 78. President Obama and the First Lady will welcome Pope Francis when he arrives at Joint Base Andrews in Washington, D.C. this afternoon.
Pope Francis will visit three cities in his six day trip in the U.S. After addressing Congress in D.C. on Thursday, he will make his way over to New York.
In New York, Pope Francis will attend the United Nations General Assembly meeting as well as a multi-religious services at the 9/11 memorial and museum at the World Trade Center.
Pope Francis will then travel to Philadelphia Saturday and Sunday, where he will hold mass and attend the World Meeting of Families.
