ANAHEIM (KRON) — With Memorial Day just around the corner, police are warning people about a man selling fake tickets to Disneyland.

So far, the scam has only hit people in the Los Angeles area. Police officers with the Los Angeles Police Department say that the man has taken in several people since March, netting thousands of dollars.

Victims say the scam artist offers the tickets through Craigslist for about half to the ticket price.

In each of the cases, the victims arrange to meet the man in downtown Los Angeles. To gain their trust, the scammer lets the victims take a picture of his driver’s license.

After giving the man the money, the scammer hands overs the worthless tickets.
