CONCORD (BCN) — Police are warning residents in Concord this afternoon of a swarm of bees that have apparently taken over an area of the city.

Beginning Friday, police received numerous calls about a swarm of aggressive bees in the 3800 block of Hitchcock Drive, according to police Cpl. Christopher Blakely.

Many residents reported getting stung by the bees.

Police have enlisted the help of “bee experts,” who are working to safely relocate the bees. The experts recommended that the best time to contact the bees is nighttime, Blakely said.

“We are working on finding a solution and hoping we find one fast because we don’t want anyone to get hurt,” according to Blakely. “Hopefully by tonight we can solve this problem.”

Police are recommending that people stay away from the area.
