Police say singer Christina Grimmie was seriously hurt after being shot at The Plaza Live in Orlando Friday night. The shooter then shot and killed himself, police say.
As many as five gunshots were fired, police said.
Police are investigating. It is unknown what led to the incident.
Witnesses said they heard gunshots as the performance was ending, while crowds of people were walking away from the theater. Another witness said they heard gunshots following a meet-and-greet after a performance at the theater.
Grimmie is known for participating in Season 6 of NBC’s singing competition, “The Voice.”
On her Twitter page, Grimmie actually sent out a video urging people to come to the concert.
