FREMONT (BCN) — Investigators are looking for anyone who may have witnessed a hit-and-run collision that happened in Fremont last month, police announced Saturday.

Police are hoping witness statements can help locate a suspect or suspect vehicle connected to the Aug. 9 collision near Mission Boulevard and Mayhews Road, according to police.

Just after midnight, officers received calls regarding a collision between a vehicle and a male pedestrian, police said.

After the collision, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene, police said.

The victim suffered major, but not life-threatening, injuries and was transported to a hospital, according to police.

Police currently do not have any suspect leads or a description of the suspect vehicle. The vehicle may have cosmetic damage to the left front bumper, police said.

Anyone who may have information about the case is encouraged to contact Officer Anthony Piol at (510) 790-6800 or apiol@fremont.gov.
