SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO (BCN) — South San Francisco police are asking for the public’s help in locating a man wanted on suspicion of a shooting on Tuesday morning.

Police are looking for South San Francisco resident Christian Mares, 28, who is wanted for allegedly shooting at a vehicle following an argument. Police said Mares is wanted on suspicion of attempted murder.

Around 10:20 a.m., a man reported he and Mares were involved in a verbal argument in the 600 block of Fourth Lane.

During the argument, Mares allegedly pulled out a handgun and shot at the victim’s vehicle as the victim drove away, police said.

The victim was not injured in the shooting.

A SWAT team responded to a residence in the 600 block of Grand Avenue where Mares was believed to be hiding, but he was not found there.
