SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Police are looking for the driver who struck and killed a 27-year-old man early Monday morning in San Bruno, according to California Highway Patrol.

The crash happened around 1:45 a.m. on Skyline Boulevard and Berkshire Drive near College, CHP officials said.

The victim has been identified as San Bruno resident Scott Glasner.

Upon arrival, police found the victim lying in the roadway suffering from major injuries. Glasner was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical personnel.

The driver fled the scene but a few witnesses stayed to speak with police, authorities said. Police are now actively searching for the suspect driver.

The vehicle that struck Glasner is being described as a dark colored, newer model Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class. No license plate information is available, police said.

Southbound Skyline Boulevard between Berkshire Drive and Sneath Boulevard was closed but has since been reopened.
