OAKLAND (KRON) — Police are looking for a vehicle that may have been involved in a deadly collision involving a motorcycle early Sunday morning in Oakland, officials with the California Highway Patrol said.

Police believe a white 2016 Kia Sorento was involved in the accident that occurred around 2 a.m. on eastbound Interstate Highway 980 near the 27th Street on-ramp.

A motorcyclist driving a 2006 orange Harley-Davidson was involved in the crash. Officers found the victim laying on the shoulder of the highway.

The motorcyclist, later identified as 40-year-old Rodeo resident Steven Lee, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Evidence found at the scene suggested that the Kia Sorento would have damage to the front right wheel area.
