FAIRFIELD (KRON) — Authorities responded to two separate shootings that occurred in the city of Fairfield late Saturday night.

According to Fairfield police, both shootings occurred within the same hour, and resulted with one victim dead and another injured.

The first shooting took place in 800 block of East Travis Boulevard at about 9:05 p.m., and when officers arrived on scene they discovered a male victim who suffered from a gunshot wound. Authorities transported the victim to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

A short time later at about 9:41 p.m. officers were dispatched to a party in the 600 block of Greentree Circle on a report of numerous shots being fired. The party that had at least 100 people in attendance required the local police to call on the Solano County Sheriff’s department, California Highway Patrol officers, Vacaville police and Vallejo police to assist on scene.

After an extensive search for a possible suspect and victim, authorities learned that a gunshot victim had been dropped off at a hospital in Vallejo. The victim received non-life threatening injuries.

An active investigation is still ongoing and no additional information is available at this time for both shootings, according to police.
