PINOLE (KRON) — A shooting briefly shut down all lanes of westbound Interstate Highway 80 in Pinole Sunday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officials said an altercation took place around 9:30 p.m. on I-80 on Appian Way.

The lanes shut down for about an hour.

Gunfire was exchanged during the incident, CHP officials said.

At least one person suffered a gunshot wound, according to authorities.

The suspect vehicle did not remain at the scene, and the victim vehicle drove to a local hospital where the gunshot wound victim was treated.

There is currently no description of the suspect vehicle and no details are being released regarding the victim, according to the CHP.
