SAN JOSE (KRON) — Police in San Jose are investigating a homicide that happened early Wednesday morning, according to authorities.
At 3:17 a.m., officers responded to a report of a deceased person on the 1700 block of Ocala Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers found a man suffering from visible injuries, police said.
The victim was pronounced dead a the scene a short time later.
Police have confirmed that a rock was used as the weapon.
Police say a person of interest has been detained and will be questioned by investigators.
The San Jose Police Homicide Unit is responding to the scene and will take over the investigation.
The motive surrounding the death are under investigation.
The identity of the victim has not be released.
