SAN JOSE (KRON/BCN) — A man in his 30s died Sunday night in San Jose after being shot.

At 11:57 p.m., officers responded to the 2000 block of Lavonne Avenue for reports of shots fired. As officers were on their way to the scene, the call was upgraded to a person shot, police said.

When the officers arrived, they found a man on the floor of the roadway. He was suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene, according to police.

A motive for the shooting has not been determined, yet.

Police searched for several hours and were unable to find the suspects. They are being described as Hispanic males in their 20s. One suspect was wearing a red shirt and khaki pants and the other was wearing a blue shirt and blue pants, according to Lt. Chris Monaghan.

The identity of the victim will not be released until the county medical examiner’s office confirms the victim’s identity and notifies his next of kin, police said. This was the 20th homicide in San Jose this year.
