BERKELEY (KRON)—Berkeley police are investigating an armed robbery that happened Saturday night near the UC Berkeley campus.

The incident was reported around 11:30 p.m. when a man was sitting at the bus stop on Hearst Ave. just outside Cory Hall.

The man was on his laptop when a suspect approached him.

The suspect pulled out a handgun and demanded for the victim to give up his laptop.

The victim gave it to him and the suspect got away in a white sedan.

The suspected car left north on LeRoy Ave.

UC Berkeley police and Berkeley police searched for the suspect, but were unable to find him.

Police describe the first suspect as a black man in his 20s, about 5 feet 10 inches tall with a thin build.

He was last seen wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and he had a semi-automatic handgun.
