RICHMOND (KRON) — Traffic is backed up as officers responded to a fatal solo collision, Friday morning.
According to Richmond police, crews responded to a solo motorcycle collision around 5:05 a.m. on Westbound Richmond Parkway at the Giant Road on-ramp.
Upon arrival officers noticed debris of the accident on the second westbound lane, and discovered the victim.
Police said, the victim is a 54-year-old male victim from Solano County, and he was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The name of the victim has not been released until the family has been notified.
The second Westbound lane to the right of Richmond Parkway at Giant Road is currently blocked off. According to crews only one lane has been open.
This is an ongoing investigation, and crews are advising morning commuters to use alternate routes as this accident may impact your travels.
