SANTA ROSA (KRON) — Police in Santa Rosa are investigating a pair of sexual assaults that occurred on trails in May.
The first incident was reported in mid-May when a man reported he was sexually assaulted on the Paulin Creek Trail between Range Avenue and Hardies Lane.
There were three males involved in the assault, and one of the suspects was holding a knife during the sexual assault, according to police.
On May 24th, a second victim reported he was sexually assaulted on the Joe Rodota Trail between Hampton Way and Stony Point Road. The male victim in that assault also reported there were three male suspected involved.
Both assaults occurred between 8:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m., both are being investigated by the police department’s Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Unit.
Police said it is unclear if the sexual assaults are connected.
