Police are investigating a deadly motorcycle crash that happened early Tuesday morning in Antioch.

Around 12:31 a.m. officers responded to reports that a motorcyclist was down on Davidson Dr.

Police found the rider laying on the side of the road next to a wall.

“The rider had sustained injuries in the form of massive blunt force trauma from the collision, injuries that were not survivable,” police said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

Police say he was riding solo in the eastbound lanes of Davison Dr. between Vandenberg Wy. and Serpentine Dr. when he hit a curb and lost control of the motorcycle.

Speeding is being considered the main factor in the collision at this time.

Officials are waiting on a toxicology report  to see if drugs or alcohol were additional factors.

The investigation is in the preliminary stages and anyone with information is asked to please contact the Antioch Police at (925) 778-2441.
