DYER, Ind. (KRON/AP) – An 18-year-old woman from northwestern Indiana is accused of texting in a fake bomb threat in an attempt to get the rest of the day off at the pizza place where she worked.

Ashley N. Keichinger faces charges of false information and intimidation.

An affidavit says an employee at Doreen’s Pizzeria in Dyer called police June 6 after getting text messages from a number he didn’t know. One message threatened to “blow up the place” if the employee didn’t have workers leave by 3 p.m.

According to police, detectives traced the number to a messaging app. The affidavit says Keichinger admitted to sending the messages because she hoped the restaurant would close for the day.

It wasn’t immediately clear if Keichinger has an attorney.
