AUSTIN (KXAN) – Police say a man decided to take matters into his own hands July 21, when he shut off a strip club’s gas service after being kicked out, according to an arrest warrant.
Police said fire services were called to The Yellow Rose, a men’s entertainment club located on North Lamar Boulevard, for a possible natural gas leak around midnight. Shortly after arrival, they found the natural gas service for the business had been shut off, and the pipe coming from the shut-off valve to the natural gas meter had been removed, according to the affidavit.
Yellow Rose management told police 39-year-old Lino Paul Silva might be the culprit. Management said Silva was “very intoxicated” and he was asked to leave the premises “for non-payment of dances,” according to the affidavit.
“The natural gas service to the structure…could not be reestablished without a licensed plumber to repair the natural gas line,” the affidavit states.
Club management told police Silva was in the club handing out his professional plumber business card, the affidavit states.
Club surveillance video shows Silva go to a white truck after being kicked out of the club, grabbing something from the truck and then going into the alcove where the gas meter is located, according to the arrest warrant.
Silva has been charged with criminal mischief, a state-jail felony, according to police documents.
