PALO ALTO (KRON) — With the help of a police dog on Tuesday a suspect wanted on multiple arrest warrants was capture in Palo Alto.
Christopher Stadler Snyder, 25, was arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.
He was also booked on a felony warrant out of Santa Clara County for being an accessory to an assault and on a misdemeanor warrant out of Palo Alto for possession of drug paraphernalia.
On Tuesday around 1:55 a.m., a Palo Alto police officer observed a vehicle driving recklessly in the 3000 block of Greer Road, police said.
When the vehicle parked in the 3100 block of Maddux Drive, the officer made contact with two occupants, one of the officer recognized Snyder, who was known to have multiple warrants for his arrest.
Police said Snyder ran north on Maddux Drive, and the officer and a police dog pursued him, catching up to him in a side yard of a nearby residence.
After a brief struggle, the police dog assisted the officer in taking Snyder into custody. The dog bit Snyder in the arm as he was being taken into custody.
Snyder was transported to the hospital and treated for the bite wound and another minor abrasion he suffered during the struggle.
