(BCN) – Police arrested a 25-year-old man Friday night in Salinas after he allegedly tried to intimidate another man before leading police on a high-speed pursuit.

At 9:21 p.m., a 26-year-old man was driving on Kern Street, when a Black Camaro cut him off, causing the man to blow his horn, according to police.

The Camaro then began tailgating the man’s vehicle as he drove to a dead end at Kern Street. The man pulled his vehicle into the nearby Holiday Inn, in hopes the Camaro would leave.

The Camaro however then began doing donuts in an attempt to intimidate the man, police said.

When the Camaro apparently moved on, the man drove south on Kern Street.

The Camaro however appeared again, this time pulling up in front of the man’s vehicle, blocking his path. An occupant exited the Camaro and approached the victim’s car, allegedly throwing gang signs, according to police.

The man backed up his vehicle and drove around the Camaro and the occupant who had approached his vehicle.

The man then pulled into a nearby gas station and called 911, police said.

An officer arrived on scene and tried to pull over the Camaro.

The Camaro however sped off at a high rate of speed, heading south on Kern Street. When the Camaro tried to make a left turn onto East Market Street, the driver of the Camaro apparently lost control, sending the vehicle careening into a nearby gas station, striking a concrete pillar, according to police.

The Camaro sustained damage from the crash and the vehicle’s airbags deployed.

Three occupants inside the Camaro, including the driver, tried to flee on foot, while a fourth person inside remained inside.

Officers were able to apprehend all three of the occupants that fled.

After deploying a Taser on the driver, officers were able to arrest him. He’s been identified as Ramon Nunez, police said.

Nunez was arrested for driving under the influence, evading arrest, challenging to fight and gang enhancements, according to police.

The other three occupants were cited and released.
