SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — San Jose police have arrested a trio of men accused of targeting South Bay YMCA facilities in a string of car thefts.

Police say that the suspects distracted front desk staffers. While the staffers were distracted by one of the suspects, the others go to the locker rooms, breaking into lockers and stealing car keys.

After three weeks of investigating, police arrested Richard Higgerson, Anthony Roberts and Colby Worsham. Police think there may be more people involved as well.

Police got their first break on May 3rd, when employees at the South Valley Family YMCA saw two men acting suspiciously. Just moments after that, a gym member said that her minivan was stolen.

After looking over surveillance video, employees saw the suspects leaving the property in the minivan.

Police called other YMCAs in the area, alerting them about what was happening.

Just hours after allegedly stealing the minivan, the suspects are accused of trying to get into another YMCA.

Police have identified the men as transients who have also been linked to home burglaries.
