VACAVILLE (BCN) — Police arrested a man and a woman Friday evening after officers found a large amount of methamphetamine in their Vacaville hotel room.

Around 5:30 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop in the 900 block of Mason Street, according to police.

The officer identified the vehicle’s occupants as Sacramento residents Rocky Rodriguez, 36, and Cheda Hernandez, 42, police said.

The officer learned Rodriguez was driving with a suspended license in addition to having two warrants for his arrest.

The officer also discovered both Rodriguez and Hernandez were on probation, police said.

After a preliminary investigation, the officer was able to connect the pair to a nearby hotel room. With the assistance of a police K9, officers searched the room and found a pound of methamphetamine, as well as cash and other items indicating the sale of drugs, according to police.

Officers arrested Rodriguez on suspicion of driving with a suspended license, possession of a controlled substance for sales and violating probation, in addition to the two warrants.

Hernandez was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance for sales and violating probation, police said.

The pair was booked into the Solano County Jail, according to police.
