VACAVILLE (BCN) — Vacaville police detectives arrested one of three suspects for allegedly stealing merchandise from the Kohl’s department store late last
year, a police sergeant said.
The four commercial burglaries and grand thefts of clothing and shoes worth more than $3,000 from the store at 570 Orange Drive happened between Nov. 30 and Dec. 22, Sgt. Steve Carey said.
One of the suspects, Sammie Shelton, 41, of Sacramento, was arrested Thursday while driving a vehicle away from a residence in the 3500 block of 40th Street in Sacramento, Carey said.
The Sacramento Police Department’s SWAT team served an arrest warrant at the residence, Carey said. Several people were detained, but none were involved in the thefts and were not arrested.
Detectives, however, did find evidence linking Shelton to the thefts, Carey said.
A Sacramento news station profiled the photos of Shelton and the two other suspects that were posted on the Vacaville Police Department’s Facebook page, Carey said.
All three suspects, including Shelton, were identified and police obtained arrest warrants, Carey said.
Police are still looking for the two other suspects identified as Chrissy Phillips, 36, and Jennifer Vaughn, 21, both of Sacramento, Carey said.
Anyone with information is asked to call Vacaville police Officer Lisa Sampson at (707) 469-4851 or Detective Bryan Larsen at (707) 469-4823.
