EUCLID, Ohio (KRON) — Police say they arrested a man who egged a Cleveland-area home more than 100 times over a year.

Jason Kozan, a former neighbor, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with felony vandalism, according to the Euclid Police Department.

Kozan, 30, egged his neighbor’s home more than 100 times from May 2014 to June 2015, according to court records.

The lengthy investigation included undercover stakeouts, neighborhood canvassing and testing of eggshells at a crime lab. A surveillance camera was also installed on Clemens’ home, The Associated Press reported.

Albert Clemens Sr. said the attacks damaged his home and kept his family on edge. The eggings sometimes would occur several times a week.

He told cleveland.com in March 2015 that whoever was responsible demonstrated “phenomenal” accuracy, launching five or six at a time and often hitting the front door of the green, two-story home. The after-dark attacks sometimes sounded like gunshots as eggs splattered on the aluminum siding, creating a residue that strips the paint, he said.

He used to clean up each time but stopped because it was happening so often. Clemens said his insurer wouldn’t settle a claim until police caught the vandal, so Clemens said he would wait until then to make repairs.

Police say the motive for the eggings is unclear at this time.

Kozan appeared in front of a judge on for a bond which was set at $2000. He does not have an attorney on record. The Associated Press contributed to this report
