UNION CITY (KRON) — A man was arrested after police discovered that he attempted to push his wife out of a moving vehicle in Union City, Friday morning.
According to police, on Nov. 18, around 8:01 a.m. officers responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon in the parking lot of 1601 Decoto Road. It was reported that a man attempted to run over a woman with a vehicle.
Another call was made about an attack that occurred on Mission Boulevard near Tamarack Drive involving the same vehicle, the caller reported seeing the driver pushing a woman out of a moving vehicle.
Upon arrival officers located the woman and confirmed that she was the victim of domestic abuse. Police said the man who is the woman’s husband pushed her out of the car and fled with the his non-biological son.
With the help of the Oakland police department, officers were able to locate 31-year-old Lawrence Pollard in the 9400 block of E Street in Oakland.
The female victim was treated for minor injuries at a local hospital.
Pollard was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery, assault with a deadly weapon, kidnapping and child endangerment. He was taken to the Santa Rita County jail.
