The Antioch Police Department has made an arrest for the vandalism of the downtown community.
The suspect has been identified as 24-year-old Lawrence Phipps from Antioch.
Officers received tips from multiple community members to help identify him.
After searching his home, police found evidence which connected him to the crime.
The police department said in a Facebook post:
“This is an excellent example of what can happen when the police and the community come together and work as a team. As a community, we refuse to stand for this type of criminal behavior.”
Over the weekend, Antioch police were searching for a man who drew offensive words and symbols, like swastikas, on businesses.
The pastor of the Church of God Holy tells KRON4 there were four swastikas found on the church.
