DALY CITY (KRON) — A lock down has been lifted at the Jefferson Union High School District offices following an officer-involved shooting that took place right behind the campus.

At around 12:45 p.m., police responded to a call of a domestic dispute between a male and female at a residence on the 800 block of Campus Drive. Witnesses told police that a man, possibly armed with a knife, was a chasing a woman.

“Officers arrived on scene and were able to locate the suspect. The suspect then fled on foot and officers were involved in a brief foot pursuit,” police said.

The suspect ran into the backyard of a home the 800 block of St. Francis Boulevard in Daly City, not far from the Serramonte Center shopping mall.

An officer spotted the suspect in the backyard, where the suspect was shot one time. He was transported to a local hospital where he is being treated for what appears to be non-life threatening injuries, police said.

According to a district employee, district offices near the scene of the shooting were temporarily locked down but the order was lifeted at around 1:30 p.m.

Images from the scene show a residence cordoned off with yellow police tape extending along the front of the home and into a wooded area behind the home.
