Pleasanton suspect fleeing police runs out of gas

PLEASANTON (KRON) — A driver evading police in a stolen car had their chase cut short when they ran out of gas, police said today.

Officers spotted the stolen car in the parking lot of a Chevron station at 1797 Santa Rita Road at about 11:15 p.m. Sunday, police said.

The driver fled, leading police on a chase onto a freeway and into Livermore when the car sputtered out near the corner of Isabel and Vineyard avenues.

Police identified the suspect as 27-year-old Joshua Millard. Three passengers in the car were identified and released, according to police.

Millard was booked on suspicion of evading police, possession of a stolen vehicle, vehicle theft, possession of a shaved key and parole violation.

Police say Millard admitted to stealing the car.

No one was injured and no property was damaged during the pursuit, according to police.
