PLEASANTON (BCN) —A gas line break occurred this morning in Pleasanton, fire and utility officials said.
PG&E officials received the first report of the break at 10:30 a.m. in the intersection of First Street and Vineyard Avenue, PG&E spokeswoman Tamar Sarkissian said.
No one has been evacuated but traffic is being detoured around the intersection, Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Battalion Chief Mike Miller said.
A street construction crew was digging a trench for a new water main when they hit the gas line.
Miller said he did not know how large the line is but said it is a main line.
April is National Safe Digging Month and PG&E is reminding homeowners and business owners to call 811 two days before digging to have lines marked by a utility crew.
