A plane was forced to make an emergency landing at San Francisco International Airport Friday morning.
The United flight was headed to Singapore until a flock of birds flew right into the plane with about 300 people on board.
The pilot of the plane decided it would be safer to turn around to have the engine checked.
The Boeing 787 Dreamliner took off from SFO around midnight and hit the birds at about 450 feet altitude.
The pilot was able to land the plane safely back at SFO at around 1:45 a.m.
passengers say the flight staff handled the situation well.
The plane is being inspected by mechanics and is expected to take off again for Singapore at 8:45 this morning.
