At least three cars have been involved in a crash causing a severe traffic alert to be issued on westbound CA-24 to I-580 W in Oakland.
Around 6:18 p.m. on Wednesday, Oakland Police Department was in pursuit of a vehicle.
That vehicle then crashed into another, creating a pile-up.
According to authorities, police have taken the driver into custody.
Authorities say roads will be reopened soon.
