CONCORD (BCN) — A suspect tried to rob a Concord pharmacy with a replica firearm on Monday afternoon but fled empty-handed after an altercation with an

employee, police said.

The robbery was reported at 12:53 p.m. Monday at the Oak Grove Pharmacy at 785 Oak Grove Road.

Investigators learned the suspect entered the business, showed a firearm to an employee and demanded prescription medication, according to police.

The employee refused and a fight ensued, during which the employee was able to disarm the suspect, who fled from the pharmacy with some medication, police said.

The employee followed the suspect outside and was able to retrieve the medication with the assistance of a citizen. The suspect was seen getting into a compact vehicle that fled on Treat Boulevard, according to police.

The employee suffered minor injuries in the fight, police said.

The suspect, who remains at large, was described as a white man between 30 and 40 years old who wore a white T-shirt, short pants and white tennis shoes, according to police.
