CONTRA COSTA COUNTY (KRON)—PG&E crews are working to restore power to parts of Contra Costa County after a driver crashed into a power pole near Byron Thursday morning.
The crash happened at Byron Highway and Clifton Court Road just before 7:30 a.m. cutting some of the pole and exposing high voltage wires, according to the East Contra Costa County Fire Protection Department.
About 115 PG&E customers lost power from the crash and 80 did not have power as of 1:45 p.m., PG&E spokeswoman Mayra Tostado said.
Crews are working to repair the power line and power should be restored by 6 p.m., she said.
