SAN JOSE (KRON) — PG&E officials are reporting significant power outages throughout the Bay Area.

The hardest hit areas are the south and east bay areas.

In San Jose, there were 9,768 households without power in south San Jose. In the Willow Glen area, 3,211 households were without power. There were another 1,618 households without power in the downtown area.

PG&E officials have said that amount has been reduced to 5,000 customers.

About 3,953 customers were without power in the Dublin and Livermore areas. Around 7:30 p.m., officials said only about 2,000 customers were still impacted.

PG&E has confirmed that the majority of outages impacting the area are due to temperature-related equipment failures.

They have not issued a time when power is expected to be restored.
