LOWER LAKE (KRON) — PG&E crews have begun restoring power to Lake County as fire crews continue to battle the raging Clayton Fire.
The wildfire has burned 4,000 acres, nearly 200 structures and is now 20 percent contained.
PG&E crews were able to restore power to 1,100 of the 1,800 residents that were without power on Monday, according to PG&E spokesperson Lynsey Paulo.
Fire crews have asked PG&E to de-energize the power lines around the active fire as they continue to fight the blaze leaving 700 residents still without power.
PG&E crews are also gearing up to fly 16 transmission poles into the damaged area of Lower Lake to replace the poles that were destroyed by the fire.
