Yes, all the talk of SNL’s season premiere yesterday is about Matt Damon’s performance portraying Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, but another familiar SNL character is making the rounds over a “controversial” comment.
In “Weekend Update,” Pete Davidson chatted with host Colin Jost about how his life has changed since his engagement to pop star Ariana Grande.
Davidson jokes of receiving death threats, then goes on to dish of something he did to keep Grande around.
“Last night I switched her birth control with Tic Tacs. I believe in us and all, but I just want to make sure that she can’t go anywhere,” he said.

Some thought of the joke as hilarious and witty while others thought the comment was “messy” and “gross.”
