PETALUMA (KRON) — Petaluma police officers responded to the area where the resident reported an unknown male suspect trying to open the front door of their 1500 block of Lauren Drive home.
On May 8,2016, at approximately 10:09am, the suspect attempted to break into a vehicle in a parked driveway, and then pursued to open the front door at the victim’s residence.
The suspect was unable to gain entry into either the victim’s residence or vehicle.
The suspect is identified as Jacob Catlin, 29, and was described as a white male with tattoos on their face wearing a black t-shirt.
Upon Petaluma officers arriving on the scene, they located Catlin on the driveway at the scene of the residence. Catlin was detained without incident.
The victim positively identified Catlin as the subject attempting to burglarize the vehicle. The victim had taken pictures of Catlin trying to gain entry into their vehicle.
Catlin was placed under arrest for attempting burglary and will be booked into Sonoma County Jail.
Bail is set at $10,000.
