PETALUMA (BCN) — A man was arrested Wednesday morning during a sting operation targeting unlicensed drivers and drivers with suspended licenses at the Sonoma County courthouse in Petaluma, according to police.
Officers “staked out” drivers who’d been explicitly ordered not to drive, or informed that their licenses had been suspended or revoked. Ten drivers were followed from the courtroom to see whether or not they’d driven that morning, according to police.
Most of the offenders who were targeted complied with the court’s orders, but one individual attempted to drive away from the courthouse and was quickly stopped by waiting officers, police said.
Christopher Nadale, a 31-year-old resident of Petaluma, was cited for driving on a suspended license and arrested on an outstanding warrant, according to police.
Wednesday’s sting operation was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
