Petaluma Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Vehicle Theft

NOVATO (BCN) — Novato police arrested a Petaluma man this morning on suspicion of stealing a vehicle in Petaluma.

An officer driving south on Novato Boulevard was alerted by his patrol car’s automated license plate reader around 10:40 a.m. that a vehicle driving north on Novato Boulevard had been reported stolen, police said.


The officer made a U-turn and saw the vehicle suddenly park at 2 Olivia Drive. The driver, Rolando Deltoro Herrera, 38, of Petaluma, was arrested without incident, police said.

Police said the vehicle was stolen in Petaluma. A quantity of suspected methamphetamine was found inside.

Herrera was booked into the Marin County jail on suspicion of vehicle theft, possession of methamphetamine and driving on a suspended license, police said.
