BERKELEY (KRON) — When you put up a fence, it is for a reason.
It is usually meant to keep something in, or to keep something out.
But in one city in the East Bay, a fence appears to have little or no meaning.
KRON’s Stanley Roberts explains. He catches trespassers at the closed Berkeley Pier.
In July 2015, the city engineers closed the municipal fishing pier because it was deemed structurally unsound. In plain English, it means it’s too dangerous to keep open.
