UNION CITY (KRON) — Illegal dumping has been a huge problem around the Bay Area.

Tackling the problem before it gets out of hand is one way to prevent it from growing, but it doesn’t always work.

The problem with illegal dumping is it attracts rodents and increases the chance for more illegal dumping. It is called the broken glass theory.

When someone leaves trash, it attracts more people to leave trash and thus the cycle begins
