SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Crossing the street anywhere in the Bay Area can be difficult, especially for people pushing a stroller.
There have been several cases of people pushing strollers who were hit by cars.
Members of the San Mateo County Saturation Traffic Enforcement Program went out looking for drivers who failed to yield to pedestrians. Not wanting to put pedestrians at risk, the police used a police decoy who was pushing an empty stroller.
Many drivers failed to yield to the stroller; some were even tickets.
The cross walk laws in California require drives to yield the right of way to pedestrians crossing the road in a marked or unmarked cross walk.
