MEMPHIS, Tennessee (KRON) — Some Tennessee parents are up in arms about the new parking lights on Memphis public school buses.
That’s because they say the lights form the shape of a pentagram which they describe as a Satanic symbol.
“Anyone who fears a God, if not God and Jesus Christ, should be outraged,” one woman tells Memphis TV station WMC. “If you can’t put a cross on there, you cannot put a pentagram on it.”
The TV station talked with a local Wiccan who disputed the claim the pentagram had anything to do with Satan.
“Find out what it really means before you start getting riled up and all worked up about something,” Jo Applewhite said. “Wiccans, we believe in God, we believe in Jesus, but we don’t call him God.”
The parents are demanding the lights be replaced with solid red reflectors.
The school district isn’t commenting.
