RICHMOND (KRON) — Both directions of a highly traveled road in Richmond are shut down this morning after a pedestrian was hit by a car and killed, police said on Twitter.
Around 9:40 a.m., police responded to the 1500 block of Cutting Blvd. on reports of the accident.
Officers found that a man in his 50’s had been hit by a car.
He died at the scene.

Officers say the driver who struck the pedestrian is still on the scene and is cooperating.
The roadway was closed as of 10:39 a.m. and remained closed until at least 4:15 p.m. as the death was investigated.
Traffic was diverted at South 17th Street and Marina Way South, according to police.
It is too early to determine if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision, police said.
