VALLEJO (KRON) — A pedestrian was struck and killed by two different vehicles in a hit-and-run crash in Vallejo Monday evening, firefighters said.

Fire crews said on Twitter it happened at around 6:30 p.m. in the area of Springs Road and Tregaskis Avenue.

The victim was a 50-year-old woman and a resident of Vallejo, police said. She was legally crossing southbound across Springs Road, according to Vallejo police Lt. Michael Nichelini.

Vallejo police have identified her as Nancy Dilliner of Vallejo.

“A vehicle traveling (westbound) in (the No.) 2 lane slowed for the woman to allow her to cross, but a white pickup truck traveling (westbound) in the No. 1 lane struck the woman, throwing her into (eastbound No.) 1 lane, where she then (was) struck by a black Mercedes SUV, which stopped,” Nichelini said.

The woman died at the hospital, and the white truck sped away from the scene.

The suspect vehicle is being described as a late-model, full-size, 2-door pickup Toyota Tundra truck with a long bed and a lumber rack.

Emergency crews are on the scene and traffic control is currently in place. Firefighters are asking motorists to avoid the area.
