SAN FRANCISCO (KRON/BCN) — A pedestrian was struck and seriously injured by a car in San Francisco’s Civic Center area on Tuesday afternoon, police said Wednesday.

The collision was reported shortly before 4 p.m. in the area of Hyde and McAllister streets.

A vehicle was traveling south on Hyde when it struck a 22-year-old woman running into the crosswalk west on McAllister, according to police.

The woman suffered a head injury and spinal fracture, injuries that are considered life-threatening, police said.

The 20-year-old man driving the car stopped at the scene and cooperated with investigators. He was not arrested, police said.
