OAKLAND (BCN) — A Capitol Corridor train fatally struck a pedestrian Monday morning in Oakland, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials said the incident occurred near Fruitvale Avenue at East Ninth Street at 9:49 a.m.
Capitol Corridor officials reported on Twitter that trains were delayed systemwide because of a trespasser incident between the Jack London Square and Coliseum/Airport stations.
Amtrak officials said alternate transportation was being provided at the Jack London Square station for riders traveling to the Coliseum/Airport station.
No other information about the incident was immediately available.
