Pedestrian Killed in the South Bay

SAN JOSE (KRON) — A man was killed Thursday evening after being hit by a motorcycle in South San Jose.

Officers with the San Jose Police Department were called to the area of Monterey Road near Lewis Road just before 9:30, after getting a call about a pedestrian who was hit by a motorcyclist.


When officers got to the area, they found the two adult men still in the roadway, along with the damaged motorcycle.

Police think the pedestrian was crossing Monterey Road and the motorcyclist was heading north on Monterey when the accident happened.

The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

His name is being withheld until his family has been notified.
